The River Grove Police Department is proud to announce their latest campaign to provide extra traffic enforcement for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend. The campaign, funded through grant money received from the Illinois Department of Transportation, will run from Friday, May 19th, through Monday, May 28th, and will feature several traffic enforcement initiatives, including:
- Conducting three day safety check points
- Conducting three night safety check points
- Night time saturation patrols
During these check points, officers will be mainly looking for people not wearing their seatbelts, using their cell phones while driving and impaired drivers. During the night time saturation patrols, officers will be looking for speeding autos, unsafe lane usage, reckless or careless drivers, people not wearing their seat belts, cell phone usage while driving and impaired drivers.
