The Water Department's Contractor, M.E. Simpson will be flushing and pressure testing fire hydrants in the Village beginning Wednesday, May 15th. Testing will begin in the Thatcher Woods Shopping Center area and will be moving through the town in sections. When hydrant flushing occurs, you may experience low water pressure or turbidity.
To minimize any problems with your water service on test days, please follow these recommendations:
-Let your water run from every faucet until completely clear.
-Check and clean every faucet equipped with screens to ensure full water flow and pressure.
-Do not use your washing machine or dishwasher until tap water in all faucets runs clear.
Hydrant pressure testing and flushing is an important maintenance activity, ensuring proper flow to our fire hydrants in case of emergency. Thank You for your patience while we conduct this important function. If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please call the Water Department at (708)452-7055. Thank You.
